Ok, I admit it. I’m a burger fanatic. I can’t help it — there’s just nothing in the world like a melt-in-your-mouth burger. I’m so obsessed I keep a running top-ten list in my head of best burgers. I’ve eaten at Quatman’s now three or four times and had the cheeseburger every time.

The decor at Quatman’s is 70’s greasy-spoon chic, and the food is served on paper plates. No frills, to be sure, but when the burgers are as good as they are there, no frills are necessary. Apparently Quatman’s serves some deli sandwiches as well. At least they’re on the menu. I doubt I’ll ever try them. I did try their chili which was rather uninspired and tasted vaguely like Manwich. Stick with the burgers.

Quatman’s cheeseburgers are big, juicy, and always perfectly cooked. The cheese is always at that perfect point of meltiness just before the cheese would otherwise become runny. They’re served with a slice of onion and your choice of condiments. (You have to ask for mayonnaise.) The daily special is (as far as I can tell) always a cheeseburger, soda, and fries for $5.35. Not too shabby!

So after all that, where do Quatman’s cheeseburgers rank on my scale of Cincinnati burgers? 3rd, right behind Anderson Township Pub and Arthur’s.

Lots of new photos have been uploaded. Halloween pictures are up, pictures from the Winchester Speedway Stock Car Festival, as well as photos from the 1990 Reds Reunion. Eventually I’ll get around to scanning in old stuff from the prehistoric days of print photography.
